Nicotinamide, also known as nicotinamide, is an amide compound of niacin. Nicotinamide is a white crystalline powder, odorless or almost odorless, bitter, slightly hygroscopic.Nicotinamide plays a role in protein and sugar metabolism and improves nutrition in humans and animals.It can be used as a nutritional additive in cosmetics.Also used in medicine and food, feed additives.
Niacinamide 1g soluble in 1ml water, 1.5ml alcohol and 10ml glycerol, insoluble in ether.
