Product Overview

Zinc PCA is a composite zinc salt formed by zinc ions and pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (PCA, a natural component of skin’s natural moisturizing factor NMF). It perfectly combines the oil-control antibacterial advantage of zinc ions and the moisturizing performance of PCA.

Owing to excellent water solubility, it can be stably compounded in various aqueous skincare systems. It regulates sebum secretion gently without excessive drying of the skin, inhibits acne-causing bacteria, relieves mild inflammatory acne, and is widely applied in oil-control skincare, anti-acne essence, anti-dandruff shampoo and scalp care products by global cosmetic manufacturers.

1. Regulate sebum secretion & long-term oil control: Inhibit the activity of 5α-reductase, reduce excessive sebum output of sebaceous glands, improve oily shiny skin, shrink enlarged pores caused by grease blockage, and create refreshing matte skin feeling.
2. Antibacterial & anti-inflammatory to improve inflammatory acne: Suppress the reproduction of Propionibacterium acnes, relieve redness, swelling and inflammation of inflammatory pimples and closed comedones, reduce the probability of acne repeated breakouts.

Formulation Operation Guidelines

1. Dissolve directly in the water phase at room temperature or low temperature below 40℃; high-temperature long-time heating is not required;
2. Excellent synergistic compatibility with salicylic acid, niacinamide, tranexamic acid, bisabolol and hyaluronic acid; compound matching can strengthen oil control, anti-acne and soothing effects;
3. Avoid long-term placement in strong alkaline environment; buffer system can be matched to stabilize the pH value of the formula between 5.0-6.5 to prevent precipitation;
4. Not suitable for direct addition to anhydrous oil-based essence and cleansing balm oil phase systems.
